About the Taster
Tasterers can choose to attend any one of the five sessions that comprise the five-week Know Your Wine course at the Wine & Food Academy. The course is aimed at beginners who want to learn about the basics of wine tasting. You'll learn how to taste wine together with food as a substantial supper will be served. The course will help you determine which wines suit your palate best, what you should be buying for quaffing or for drinking with food. You'll also learn how to talk about wines in a relaxed and informal way. All dietary requirements are catered for. Here are the five sessions you can choose from:
Week 1 - Evaluation of Wine
Week 2 - Sparkling Wines & Champagne
Week 3 - White Wines from around the world
Week 4 - Red Wines from around the world
Week 5 - Major Grape Varieties

The Wine & Food Academy
A founding member of the Guild of Sommeliers, from his start in British Rail catering, Kenneth Harry Putt has gone on to own his own restaurant and become a world-renowned authority on wine, lecturing all over the globe. He founded the Wine & Food Academy with the specific aim of demonstrating the pleasures of harmonising wines and food - a subject close to his heart. He now has over 150 adult students, and in addition he organises regular visits to wine growing regions in Europe. He has been featured on BBC2, Sky Digital, "Good Food Live" and Channel 4’s "Come Dine with Me".
