The Lowdown

Brazilian Zouk in London is the latest Latin dance import. Brazilian Zouk sounds a bit like the latest Bond villain, but it’s actually an energetic and sensual dance. Also known as zouk-lambada it’s a variation on the Spanish dance made famous on these shores by Kaoma’s 1989 mega hit. Although they are from the same family, dancing the lambada and Brazilian Zouk are actually very different experiences - the secret’s in the Zouk.

Originally a Caribbean form of music, the Brazilians have borrowed the Zouk beat for their own variation. But this melting pot of moves is often danced to a reggaeton, urban or R&B soundtrack. To prepare for some Zouk lessons take a little look at how it should be done.

The Crowd

Zouk lessons are spreading like wildfire, so why not get some practice in before all your friends are at it? Taking some Zouk lessons will ensure you’ll be able to keep up with all the other Latin dance enthusiasts out there, and you’ll get to try something new at the same time. This sensual dance is both great fun to do and versatile enough to go with a host of different music styles. Salsa is so last year - get on the Brazilian Zouk in London bandwagon with a TasterLab taster.

The Cost

Considering all the hair flipping that's done during zouk lessons, we might suggest you purchase a lovely, long wig, but it's not absolutely necessary. But really though, just wear whatever is comfortable, and the only cost to you will be your incredibly cheap or free TasterLab taster.
