Things to Do in London: March 5 - 11
Save yourself the internet sifting - here are our top picks for things to do in London this week.
1. 2011 Veolia Environment Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition
You don’t have to admit it out loud - but we know all of you use at least some portion of your internet browsing time looking at awesome and/or really cute photos of animals. It’s one of the best parts of the web. Step away from the computer screen this week and see some amazing nature photography first-hand before the exhibit closes March 11th. Cuteoverload.com will still be there when you get back.
2. David Shrigley - Brain Activity at the Hayward Gallery
Called the “deadpan master of the absurd,” Shrigley’s exhibition at the Hayward Gallery is perfect if you’re looking to do something culturally relevant this week, but you’re not taking it too seriously. Until then, you can entertain yourself with this Shrigley light switch. Turn it on. Turn it off. And then maybe turn it on again? You get it.
3. Douglas Adams: The Party
March 11th would have been the much-loved author of the Hitchhiker’s series Douglas Adams’ 60th birthday, so several fans have organised a party in tribute. There will be live bands and general merriment (and hopefully, no Vogon poetry) to celebrate his life, and all proceeds benefit Save the Rhino and the Environmental Investigation Agency.
Anything else worthwhile going on this week? Let us know, and we'll add it in!
